Before starting off with our group assignment, we went for a site visit at Sivananda Home to analyse the whole area which are in need. The most neglected area was the garden where bushes are overgrown as well as trash are scattered all over. We cleaned up and start measuring the site that we are using. For our group we proposed to build 4 sets of convertible tables and chairs so that the children able to have outdoor activities during their weekends rather than staying indoor. Firstly, we went to visit a wood factory nearby Puchong to ask for sponsors. We feel grateful that the owner able to give us their full support. They provided 2 metres long Meranti mixed hardwood and also free transportation to Taylor's uni. After that, we went to the carpentry shop for polishing, cutting and fixing. It took us a few weeks to fix and paint as it requires a lot of hard work in order to make it look presentable.  Before all these, we as a group did measure and discuss on the design and also the measurement of the furnitures. It was a pleasure to see them enjoying the use of outdoor furnitures in the garden. I hope we had more chances to help the community like this, it able to increase our communication skills with outsiders as well as designing things that people cant afford. Im happy that i get to learn about cutting wood drilling and use all the hardware in Taylor's, thanks for Ms Salvi's help we are able to book the workshop if not we wont get the materials to cut or even smoothen the wood to get a perfect furnished furniture.
